Ader criticises EU s disaster management agencies

Bratislava, June 13 (MTI) - Hungarian President Janos Ader on Thursday criticised the European Union s disaster management agencies for its ineffective response to the floods in the region.

Attending a summit meeting of Central European heads of state in Bratislava, Ader noted that the region had been hit by a series of floods over the recent period.

It turned out that the European Union had no immediately deployable means to manage disasters, he said.

"The EU s solidarity fund is insufficient ... and only accessible slowly and in a limited way," he said.
