Budapest, August 9 (MTI) - The main opposition Socialists on Thursday accused Fidesz of pursuing "two-faced" politics, saying that while its economic policy ruins the country, the ruling party "uses the key it holds to the treasury to fill the pockets of its own people."

Socialist MP Sandor Burany sharply criticised the key 2013 budget figures approved early this summer and said analysts have warned that the deficit may grow by 400-700 billion forint beyond the level forecast in the budget.

According to Burany, the Orban government has changed its mind about taxing the central bank and will therefore further budget amendments should be expected, even after the cabinet had "set world records" with the number of changes it has introduced to the budget.

Burany referred to a report in the online version of business weekly Figyelo from Wednesday, according to which many Fidesz politicians and businesses close to the party will benefit from the micro-business boosting programme included in the government New Szechenyi Plan.
