Hungary posts trade surplus of EUR 490.3m in Oct

Budapest, December 23 (MTI) - Hungary posted a trade surplus of 490.3 million euros in October, slightly down from the 497.4 million euros in a preliminary figure, and from 740.6 million euros in September, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading on Friday.

Budapest, December 23 (MTI) - Hungary posted a trade surplus of 490.3 million euros in October, slightly down from the 497.4 million euros in a preliminary figure, and from 740.6 million euros in September, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading on Friday.

The trade surplus was 398 million euros in October last year.

 

October exports rose 5.2 percent in euro terms and rose 6.6 percent in volume terms in twelve months. Both figures were down from the previous two months. October exports reached 6.887 billion euros.

 

Imports grew by an annual 4.0 percent in euro terms to 6.397 billion euros in October, but were down 0.4 percent from a year earlier in volume terms. Imports grew by 5.4 percent in euro terms and grew 2.2 percent in volume terms in September.

 

Hungary registered a surplus of 5,941.1 billion euros in January-October, up 1.609 billion euros from the same period a year earlier. Ten-month exports rose 13.9 percent to 66.508 billion euros. Imports in the period were up 12.0 percent at 60.397 billion euros.
