Public employees demand job security, 8-10 pc wage rise

Budapest, May 19 (MTI) – The union of Hungarian civil servants and public employees MKKSZ demands job security and a 8 to 10 percent rise in gross wages for employees of municipality-run institutions, outgoing union leader Jozsef Feher told MTI on Saturday.

Holding a congress in Budapest on Saturday, the union recommended that the government should adopt a multi-year programme in which wages in the municipal sector would rise in line with the rate of inflation plus half of the GDP rise.
