Renewal of Hungarian economy "success story" - Orban

Budapest, January 25 (MTI) - A double success story has emerged from the Mercedes factory in Kecskemet, Victor Orban, Hungary s premier, said at the official presentation of the car manufacture s new model on Friday. One is traditional and represented by Mercedes while the other is a European success story: the renewal of Hungary s economy, he said.

Orban said the new CLA model emanates "strength and beauty." This is something that Hungary would like to build for itself, he said.

"Looking at this car as Hungary s prime minister, I see thousands of Hungarian workers who are able to manufacture it here in their home town and not as a guest worker abroad," he said.

Orban drove the first CLA Mercedes off the assembly line in the company of Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche.

The prime minister said that Hungarians had done a great job over the past two years of reorganising the country and saving it from collapse caused by the debt crisis.

"Hungary has proven that it is able to put its economy in order, find a way-out and create a chance of growth," Orban said.
