Hungary PM has talks with Lebanon’s president – spokes

Budapest, January 27 (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Friday briefed Lebanese president Michel Suleiman about the economic challenges facing Europe, Orban’s spokesman told MTI in a statement.

Orban expressed recognition of Lebanese unity and its role in the region as well as its economic achievements. They agreed to intensify economic relations.


Suleiman extended an invitation for Hungarian President Pal Schmitt to pay an official visit to Lebanon.


Orban arrived on Thursday for a two-day official visit. He met his counterpart, Najib Mikati, and agreed with him on the importance of close economic cooperation.


The prime minister gave a lecture at a conference on democracy and pluralism amid changes in the Arab world.
