Govt mulls cutting holidays for members

Budapest, February 4 (MTI) – The government plans to cut the paid holidays for ministers and state secretaries by half, from 40 to 20 days a year.

Deputy Premier Tibor Navracsics, who is also minister of justice and public administration, submitted the related bill to parliament on Friday.

The bill would also restore the basic examination to be passed by all employed in public administration. Those with higher qualifications would be obliged to take the exam within a year, and all the others within two years. Passing the exam would be made a condition for employment in the sector.
