Corporate, personal income tax revenue fall 14pc in 2009

Budapest, September 14 (MTI) – Hungarian tax office APEH collected HUF 327 billion (EUR 1.15bn) in corporate tax revenue in 2009, 14 percent less than in 2008, APEH deputy director Arpad Varga said at a press conference on Tuesday.

APEH collected HUF 1,637 billion in personal income tax revenue, also 14 percent less than in the previous year, Varga said.

About 10 percent of the 361,000 companies in Hungary paid 60 percent of corporate tax last year. The tax burden remained unchanged for personal individuals, although middle-income earners paid slightly less.
