Career-starters in Hungary take home gross monthly HUF 160,000 – Workania

Budapest, June 2 (MTI) – Career-starters in Hungary between the ages of 18 and 25 earn on average gross 160,000 forints (EUR 600) a month, according to a fresh survey by, operated by job portal Workania.  

University graduates take home 209,000 forints (EUR 780) a month on average, while Hungarians who have a secondary-school diploma get 128,000 forints (EUR 475) and those who have only completed primary school earn just HUF 118,000 (EUR 440).


University graduates starting out in the banking and financial sector get an average monthly 302,000 forints (EUR 1,120). Career-starters with degrees get 295,000 forints (EUR 1,100) in the automotive industry, 279,000 forints (EUR 1,040) in the insurance business, 262,000 forints (EUR 970) in the chemicals industry and 211,000 forints (EUR 780) in marketing and PR. Starting out in the public sector, university graduates get a gross average 274,000 forints (EUR 1,020) a month.
