Almost half of Hungarians give economy poor marks

Budapest, October 3 (MTI) – About 46 percent of Hungarians gave a poor assessment of both their own and the country’s economic condition in a fresh survey by research institute Tarki.

About 16 percent of the respondents said their own economic situation as well as that of the country was middling. Just 1 percent were satisfied with their own and the country’s economic position.


About half of Hungarians expect the economy to get worse. A little less than half said the outlook for their own positions was negative. Only 14 percent said the economy would improve and just 9 percent reported a positive outlook for their own situation.
